FURTHER DIGITISATION PROJECTS

The district, the associated cities and the municipalities are continuously working on actively implementing and further developing the projects set out in the digitalisation strategy in the areas of "Economy", "Education", "Mobility", "Administration" and "City and village centres".

This takes place in iterative processes that build on one another and requires close cooperation with many other project partners from business and science.

Here you will find an excerpt of the projects that are currently being realised:

Economy

Booking portal for career exploration (BFE) in the district of Coesfeld

In the BFE booking portal, pupils can quickly and easily book offers from local companies for career explorations (one-day work shadowing as part of the career guidance process "No degree without a connection"). Interested companies can register at any time, publish descriptions of offers and companies and communicate the content of the practical day to the students in advance and without great effort. Other functions (e.g. the automatic creation of participation confirmations) help companies to organise the event effectively. The aims of the project are to strengthen the next generation of skilled workers, save time for both pupils and companies and help young people with early career guidance.

The project is co-financed by the state of NRW and the EU

Education

Children's Research Foundation

The name "Stiftung Kinder forschen" (formerly: "Haus der kleinen Forscher") stands for Germany's largest educational initiative for STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) in nurseries and primary schools. The included workshop "Discovering computer science - with and without computers" illustrates the points at which children of kindergarten age come into contact with computer science and is aimed at educational specialists and teachers in the Coesfeld district. The children learn how to handle data in an age-appropriate way and discover the first steps in programming - skills that will become increasingly important in everyday working life in the future.

zdi network

The Future through Innovation Network (zdi for short) in the Coesfeld district aims to awaken and strengthen young people's interest in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). In action-oriented projects such as "3D Sculpting", in which young people design and produce their own characters using a 3D printer, or "Endless Runner - create your Game", in which they programme their own game as an app, participation and the realisation of their own ideas are encouraged. This research, learning and experimentation is intended to support vocational orientation for STEM professions or corresponding degree programmes.

The project is funded by the NRW Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency and the NRW Ministry of Culture and Science

Town centre and village centre

Digitalguide Münsterland

The Coesfeld district economic development agency and digital guide Fabian Kowalski have set themselves the task of supporting city centre players such as restaurants and retailers in making themselves and their offerings more visible and therefore more competitive online. Among other things, the players can receive support in being found on Google Maps, developing a professional company website or web shop and customising their social media presence. The aim is to offer customers a special shopping experience not only in bricks-and-mortar stores, but also online.

The test phase, which started in March 2022, proved very popular in the test municipalities of Ascheberg, Lüdinghausen, Nordkirchen and Senden. The plan for 2023 is to extend the digital guide to the entire district of Coesfeld.
